Christmas Time

This is my favorite time of year! We've seen Santa a lot!

I took Maya to see her first Nutcracker this year. It was a quick kid friendly show and she enjoyed it!

She got to see Santa before the show started!

We went to the tree lighting celebration in my mom's neighborhood where an Elf made them balloon creations and they again got to see Santa.

Maya got up and sang Christmas songs in front of everyone... No idea where she gets this from!

She asked the Elf to make a "princess crown". Leo got a reindeer but he was too busy for a picture!

Vera is (was) 5 Months Old

Vera you continue to go with the flow. You gave me 2 rough days this month where I actually heard you wail, but it ceased (thank goodness).

You refuse to smile for your monthly pictures!

This month you:

  • started playing in your Jumperoo
  • had your first Thanksgiving
  • constantly make your favorite noise which is a farting noise...
  • started blowing through multiple diapers a day (between your spit up and your blow out diapers you go through a lot of clothes a day)!
  • continue to dislike tummy time- probably because it always results in your face being covered in spit up
  • started wearing size 9 months clothes!

Your brother and sister continue to dote on you and often fight about who gets to interact with you!  You are definitely the most popular person at the breakfast table in the morning.  Many fights have occurred over who gets the sit the closest to you!

We love you and your sunny disposition!

It's really hard to not succumb to the matching girls clothes...

This is my favorite picture to date!

First time in the Jumperoo- you love it!

Leo's First Day of Preschool/ Parent's Morning Out

Leo started his "Parent's Morning Out" program at our preschool in October.  It's just one day a week for a little over 2 hours but he LOVES it.  He walks in each day without any hesitation and is so excited each day that he has school!

"When I grow up I want to be BATMAN!"

Their classrooms are right next door to each other- they LOVE that!

Halloween 2015

The kids LOVED Halloween this year!

We had Maya the Mermaid, Batman Leo, and Vera the Ladybug!

I got to visit Leo at school and hear his little class sing a Halloween song!  He was the only kid who stayed in his costume his entire school day!  I wasn't at all surprised... in fact I'm beginning to think Vera thinks Batman may be her brother.

We went to some festivities in my mom's neighborhood.  The kids love using her wagon to get around her neighborhood!

They had an AMAZING free face painter- I was worried the kids would expect me to replicate this for trick-or-treating!

Leo wanted a "Batman Pumpkin" so we used a paint resist technique (thank you Pinterest) and it worked really well!

Maya wanted a "Rainbow Stripe Pumpkin"

I just love that Dexter jumped up to photobomb this picture and was the focus!

Dave and I both took the kids around the neighborhood, so we set up a candy table toward the end of the driveway to save the neighbors from the long walk down to our house!

Vera is (was) 4 Months Old

Yet again I'm posting the update closer to the next month!  However, I am actually taking the pictures on her actual month birthdays so I'm going to give myself a bit of a pat on the back for that one with number 3!

Vera this month you...

  • continued to be a happy easy going baby
  • started tolerating tummy time for a little bit longer but still dislike it
  • started sitting up in your Sit me Up and Bumbo seat- you like both as long as things are going on around you
  • continued to adore your sister and brother
  • continued to laugh a lot
  • continued to be a great sleeper and sleep through the night or get up once
  •  still seem to have no desire to roll over
  • started sleeping in your Magic Merlin Sleep Suit rather than a swaddle blanket
  • continued to spit up a TON
  • started refusing bottles... you really only see you get mad when we push this on you
  • seem to have hazel eyes- we're curious to see if they stay this way!
  • weigh 15 lbs 15 oz  (93%) and are 24.5" tall (63%) and have a head circumference of 16.75" (88%)- you are BIG and oh so cuddly!

I call you my "marshmallow baby" when you wear this!

Vera is (was) 3 Months Old!

Vera turned 3 months on the 29th!  She continues to be an easy going sweet baby!

Vera this month you...

  •  slept through the night a couple of times (thank you very much)
  • are usually up once at night to eat
  • started laughing- you great me with a big squeal every morning
  • started grabbing/swatting at toys
  • continue to adore your big brother and sister- you follow their every move with your eyes
  • continue to be a BIG baby.  You are wearing size 6 month clothing!
  • continue to spit up a ton- we both change our clothes multiple times a day!
  • talk (coo) a lot- especially to Maya!

"You're squishing me!"

I love their expressions in this one, Vera looks concerned, very very concerned to be left with Leo!

Someone wanted to be the center of attention- and the camera focus!

"Please stop taking my picture Mom!"

Maya's First Book

Maya decided that she wanted to make a book for her Godmother. I happily encouraged her and helped her draw parts of a few mermaids and helped her spell words. I'm crazy proud of this! I may not let her Godmother keep it 😀

It's called "Save Mermaids"

"I am a [an] orange mermaid."

"I am a rainbow mermaid."

"I am a red polka dot mermaid." The name is Dadeo.

"The bad mermaid steals mermaids."
