Maya in the Bed

Dave tucked Maya into our bed in the morning after she got up. She seemed to be thinking, "This is great, you should let me sleep here all of the time!"




Here's the family. The picture was taken courtesy of our neighbors and good friends from high school. While this was taken, the dogs were venturing into their house!




I (Amy) had a good birthday today. Maya was the first to wish me a happy birthday with a midnight wake up call. :-)

I can suck on my toes

Best Buds

Maya and Dexter have become good friends the last few weeks. Today she even started smiling when she spotted him. Here they are doing tummy time together!

Maya's New Hat

During out family vacation at the shore my mom, and I wandered into an upscale children's store.  I exclaimed how I loved every item in the story but couldn't afford a single item due to the high prices.  I longingly eyed a beautiful crocheted beanie hat with a flower.  Lucky for Maya and I, my mom (who continues to amaze me as she somehow seems to know how to do everything- literally everything) said "I can make that real easily- find me a pattern."  So I sent my mom a free pattern on the pattern and viola- she created this masterpiece.  Mom's are the best.  I just hope that Maya will one day say the same about me!

Maya- 5 months old

Today Maya is 5 months old!  She's pretty excited about it- as you can see in the picture!

Maya really started to enjoy playing this month.  She continues to be very observant.  She likes to take everything in.  She loves to smile for her mom and dad!  She's very portable and enjoys running errands or just being carted around anywhere!  She's great at grabbing toys and can sit well with support!  Maya also seems really interested in the dogs right now.  She loves to watch them play.  She really likes to pet Dexter.  She'll grab his fur- thankfully he doesn't care.  Rose isn't as interested in her so she's not usually close enough to be grabbed.  We're going to introduce solids to her in the next day or two!  We're anxious to see her reaction.  She started to sleep a bit better recently and has slept through the night or given us 10 hour or so stretches a few times- she is still very inconsistent with it though.  We can't wait to see what new tricks she'll have up her sleeve this month!

Sweet like a cupcake!

My (Amy's) grandmother's neighbor made this cute little cupcake hat for Maya!  Here she is posing for her photo shoot in the hat.  She's of course playing with her toes, her newest fascination!
