Maya's Last Day in Daycare

Maya's last day in daycare was June 14th.  I actually felt sad about it.  While Maya still did cry at drop offs many mornings, I know that she loved it there.  She really blossomed into a little person there and they kept her busy and learning.  Her teachers were amazing and adored her.  Every now and then she asks to play with the the girls in her class and it makes me sad.  However, I'm happy to be spending more time with her, and she'd be home with me during the summer regardless.

Below she is pictured with Miss Samantha, Miss Lisa (the director/owner with her newborn), and Miss Lianna.

I can't thank these ladies enough, and Miss Rebecca who left, for caring for my little girl while I was at work. It's a tiring and taxing job and I'll forever be grateful for their hard work, compassion, and love toward Maya.

Leo is 1 Month Old

Mr. Leo is 1 month old!  I can't say it's been an easy month.

Leo- you are a fussy baby.  We love your dearly of course but if you're awake you're pretty much screaming.  I keep hoping for the day when you can sit content for spurts of time.  You love to be swaddled.  One of the only ways to calm you down is to swaddle you.  You also love your Wubanub pacifier and your swing!  You were sleeping well for a few nights but last night... well let's try not to remember last night :)  Thankfully, you are very good out and about on the go, which is crucial since Maya likes to be out and about!    Here are some recent pictures of you!

He Does Sleep (sometimes)

Proof to myself that Leo does sometimes sleep somewhere besides my arms :-). It's a rare occurrence right now.

Maya is constantly bringing him blankets and toys. Hence all of the things surrounding him.

He's Here!

Last Saturday we went out to breakfast as a family, went and saw 2 houses (yes, we're still house hunting- long story), went into Philly so Dave could pick up some work at his office while I shopped at the Trader Joe's in Philadelphia, came home, had dinner, played with Maya, put her to bed, and then...

Leo Warren Gomez entered the world on May 25, 2013, a week early at 10:48 pm, weighing in at 6 lbs 15 oz.  He was 20.5 inches long.  He came quickly- about 45 minutes after arriving at the hospital.   We're a little nervous that this might be a glimpse of his personality... :)

Newborns are sooo sleepy.  I already think he's going to be a thumb sucker like his big sister.  He's found it a couple of times already, and was sucking his thumb during an ultrasound!

First family of 4 photo!

Maya checking out her little bro!

All ready to go home from the hospital - don't worry he had a blanket too!  He's so little in there!

Maya is such a wonderful big sister.  She adores Leo. She loves to run in and check on him in the morning and bring him all of her toys!  If he cries she tells him that, "He's ok."  She's thankfully has been totally fine with all the time it takes to feed a newborn.  I hope this continues  Living at grandmom's house helps of course, and so does all of the extra attention that Dave has been giving to her!

Maya asks to hold Leo fairly frequently!

Who do you think he looks like?  He's starting to look more like Maya I think but he doesn't look just like Dave like Maya did.  I think might be resembling my side a bit more!  They change so quickly each day though!

Welcome to the world Leo!  Now that you're here we can't imagine our lives without you.
