Florida

Over winter break, Maya and I flew to Florida to visit Dave's parents and some of his extended family who had never met Maya. She had a blast with her many new experiences! I apologize for the picture quality. I just took my iPhone.



Ready for her first flight. Despite sitting in the plane for about an hour before even taking off, and being woken at 4:30 am, she did great!



She loved playing with the boys in the ball pit at Dave's aunt's house.

They had a singing snowman that she and her second cousin danced along with!



Maya's great grandpa built this Mickey Mouse playhouse for the kids. It's incredible just like he is.



Here Maya is playing inside of the Mickey Mouse clubhouse with Dave's little cousins.



Maya's great grandpa has a pony!! Maya loved her but was a little too nervous to pet her.



There's nothing quite like swinging while staring at the ocean while being pushed by Mimi.



Here's Maya with her cousins and Mimi and Granddad. Her cousins were so good with her. They played football and basketball with her. She constantly took things from their room and enjoyed making them laugh.



Maya loved watching the planes fly in and out during our layover in Atlanta!

Brought to you by the letter "M"

Maya loves the letter "M". She asks us to write it for her all the time and then she spells the rest of her name aloud. Tonight she was coloring while I cleaned up dinner. All of a sudden she exclaimed, "Look it's an M!" I walked over and this is what I saw!



Proud mommy moment! I feel like she has the A there too. She made an "a" in the bathtub tonight with her tub crayons too and pointed out that she made an "a" :-)

2012 a Year in Review

It's hard to believe that 2012 is coming to a close!

This year Maya turned 1 and Dave and I turned the big 3-0!

Here's a picture of Maya and I on my 30th!

We had a nice year as a family of 3.  We're excited to see what 2013 brings as a family of 4.  I anticipate many changes... more on that later :-)

Christmas 2012

We had a wonderful Christmas.  We celebrated early with Maya's cousins because we knew we wouldn't see them on Christmas day this year. Everyone seemed to love their gifts and enjoyed playing with each other's gifts!

On Christmas day Dave made a delicious breakfast of french toast.  My mom came over later in the day and we all enjoyed steak that Dave made.    Maya got a good amount of Sesame Street related things from Santa and mom and dad!  She loves Cookie Monster & Elmo.  She got a play kitchen from Mimi & Granddad, a doll that looks like her and a tea set among other things from G.B., nice coats from family members, a tricycle that we can push, etc.  She really got too much!!!
